Johachidolite is an extremely rare gemstone found only in Burma and the type locality in North Korea, from which only a few pieces are known and of significantly poorer quality.
Johachidolite was named after the old Japanese (from the colonial era) name of the type locality - Johachido.
Johachidolites are cut for jewelry purposes and then fetch high prices due to their rarity.
